WHY CHOOSE LIVVON DIABEGARD ® ?

HELPS REJUVENATES Β CELLS IN THE PANCREAS

The β cells in the islets of Langerhans within the pancreas make, store and secrete the polypeptide hormone insulin, which is a vital regulator of blood glucose. PPk enhances the stimulation of β cells in the pancreas to produce more insulin in diabetics. In a diabetic condition, there is a lack of insulin, or a failure of insulin to function effectively.

IMPROVES INSULIN RESEPTORS

Insulin becomes ineffective when insulin reseptors in muscle are scarce or when they do not function properly. This is known as down-regulated insulin reseptors. Due to this, glucose remains in the blood and the blood glucose level rises. This is called " insulin resistance". The body resists insulin; therefore , glucose is not properly utilized. PPk acts in reversing insulin resistance in Type II diabetes mellitus through its ability to increase the content of glucose transporter proteins present in the plasma membrane of the muscles.

HIGH RATE OF ABSORPTION

PPk is sublingually administered which means placed under the tongue. This route of administration is designed to release the active ingredient in controlled manner through saliva to the buccal, pharyngeal and/or oesophageal mucous membrane; a fast-dispersing dosage form designed to release the active ingredient rapidly in the oral cavity. It is also known as "pre-gastric absorption" which means it passes straight into the systemic circulatory system, thereby avoiding first-pass metabolism in the liver.

NO DRUG INTERACTION

Immuno assays show PPk has no cross-reaction with any prescription drug.
